The fees for childcare facilities will be waived for children aged 3-5 who need childcare and children aged 0-2 from non-taxable households. The procedures differ depending on the type of childcare facility you use. Please check the details below.

- The fees for children in classes for 3 to 5 year olds will be free.
- The fees for children in classes for 0 to 2 year olds from households that are exempt from resident tax will be free.
- No special procedures are required, but children in the 3 to 5 year old classes will continue to be required to pay the cost of side dishes (school lunch dishes) that were previously included in the childcare fees.

For those using kindergartens and certified childcare facilities (kindergarten section)
- The fees for all children in classes between 3 and 5 years old will be free.
- Fees for kindergartens that have not yet transitioned to the new system will be free, up to a maximum of 25,700 yen per month.
- Under the new system, kindergartens will be charged 0 yen for use, as set by the city.
- Transportation costs, food costs, event costs, etc. will continue to be borne by parents as before.
- If it is determined that there is a need for childcare, the day care fee will be waived.
For day care, the lesser of "450 yen x number of days day care is used" or "the free fee paid to the facility" will be paid, up to a monthly limit.
*The monthly maximum fee for classes for 3 to 11,300 year olds is 3 yen, and for children in the 16,300 year old class (children who have turned XNUMX years old) who are exempt from resident tax or from large families, the monthly maximum fee is XNUMX yen.

About the procedure and application form
Those who use unlicensed childcare facilities (excluding corporate-run childcare facilities)
- Children in classes for 3- to 37,000-year-olds who have been certified as needing childcare will receive free childcare fees, up to a maximum of XNUMX yen per month.
- For children from households not subject to resident tax who have been certified as needing childcare and are in classes for infants to two years old, the fees will be free, up to a maximum of 0 yen per month.
- An application for facility use benefit certification (No. 2 or 3) is required.
- If the guardian of a certified child uses eligible facilities or services and pays the fees during the validity period of the certification, the benefit will be paid up to the maximum amount.
- If you move, you will need to go through the certification process at your new address.
In order to continue using unlicensed childcare facilities and remain eligible for free childcare, you can continue to receive benefits by completing the necessary procedures within 14 days of moving.

- The services covered include child development support, medical-type child development support, home visit-type child development support, visiting support for nursery schools, etc., welfare-type facilities for children with disabilities, and medical-type facilities for children with disabilities.
- User fees for children up to the three years before they start school will be waived.
- User fees for children from households exempt from resident tax will remain free of charge for periods other than the three years before they start school, as before.
- No special procedures are required. The city will process the application so that eligible children will receive free tuition from October onwards.
- If you use both a kindergarten, nursery school, certified child care center, etc. and a day care facility for children with disabilities, both will be eligible for free tuition.
