Outline

Midwives and public health nurses will visit all homes where a baby is born.

Message

We visit homes with babies by around three months of age to provide advice on the health of the baby and mother and on child-rearing.
What to do during the visit

• Baby weight measurement, growth monitoring, breastfeeding consultation
• Observation of the mother's health
• Advice and consultation for child-rearing concerns and worries
• Explanation of how to receive infant health checkups and vaccinations
• Introduction to consultation desks, childcare services, etc.

How to visit

When your child is born, please submit the birth notification form enclosed in your Maternal and Child Health Handbook.
If you have submitted a birth notification form, we will contact you and visit you based on the information on the birth notification form. If you have not submitted a birth notification form, we will not be able to contact you in advance, so we will visit your home when your child is around three months old. If you will be away for an extended period of time, such as visiting your parents' home, please contact us at the address listed below.
