Regarding the formulation of the 6th Fukuoka City Comprehensive Children's Plan
In order to comprehensively and systematically promote child-related policies in Fukuoka City, we have formulated the "6th Fukuoka City Comprehensive Child-Related Plan," which covers a five-year period from fiscal year 2025 to Fiscal Year 2029.

In formulating the plan, we solicited opinions on the original draft in order to hear the opinions of citizens widely.
Fukuoka City Children and Childrearing Council
This is a council for the comprehensive promotion of child welfare and other child-related policies, and is composed of academics, experts, and people working in child and child-rearing support projects.
Regarding the formulation of the 6th Fukuoka City Comprehensive Children's Plan, we received a consultation from Fukuoka City, and after establishing four specialist committees composed of members with specialized knowledge in each field and holding deliberations, we held deliberations at the Council (general meeting) and submitted a report to Fukuoka City.

The 2nd Fukuoka City Children and Childrearing Council in FY2023
The second meeting of the Fukuoka City Children and Child-Rearing Council for fiscal year 2023 was held on February 8, 2024.
Survey on needs for child and child-rearing support, etc.
A questionnaire survey was conducted to understand attitudes towards child-rearing, the current usage and desire to use education and childcare services and local child and child-rearing support services, the attitudes and living conditions of young people, etc., in order to obtain basic information for formulating plans.
Workshops for children, young people and parents
In order to formulate the plan, we held workshops to hear direct opinions from children, young people, and parents raising children.
Interviews with related organizations
In order to understand the current situation, challenges, and needs of children and young people who are in situations where it is difficult for them to speak up due to reasons such as school absenteeism, bullying, delinquency, social withdrawal, and disabilities, as well as people suffering from infertility, we conducted interviews with staff who are directly involved in providing support on the ground at related organizations, etc.
Regarding the 5th Comprehensive Plan for Children
The "5th Fukuoka City Comprehensive Children's Plan" adopted the basic principle of "aiming for a city where all children can dream," and comprehensively and systematically promoted a total of 15 measures under three basic goals: "creating an environment where people can give birth and raise children with peace of mind," "promoting independence and social participation of children and young people," and "healthy growth of children growing up in diverse environments."
As a result, the "satisfaction level with the child-rearing environment in Fukuoka City," which is set as an overall performance indicator, rose significantly from 60.0% in FY2012 to 77.6% in FY2024, exceeding the target value of 75% for FY2024 and achieving the goal.
