Nutritional management for nursery school meals

The meal plans that form the basis of meal provision at daycare centers and small-scale childcare facilities are developed using the Dietary Reference Intakes.

We set nutritional goals based on the growth and development status, nutritional status, living conditions, etc. of the target children, and create menus to ensure the nutritional intake. It is also important to evaluate whether the food was cooked and served as planned. Furthermore, we evaluate the degree of achievement of nutritional goals by understanding the children's nutritional status, food intake, amount of leftover food, etc., and strive to improve the meal plan thereafter.

Nutritional management of school meals provided

In order to confirm whether the menus are created to achieve the facility's goals and whether meals are provided as planned, it is necessary to calculate the nutritional value of the menus. The nutritional value can be calculated using nutrition management software or the Standard Tables of Food Composition in Japan. If neither of these methods are available, it is possible to evaluate the food composition (average edible amount per person per day).

Nutritional management using nutritional management software, etc.

Please make sure you correctly understand how to use the software used in the facility and perform tasks necessary for nutritional management, such as checking the amount of nutrition being fed.

About the "Fukuoka City Nursery School Meal System"

Nurseries and other facilities affiliated with the Fukuoka City Nursery Association that use the "Fukuoka City Nursery School Lunch System" created by the association for its member schools to manage their nutrition should refer to the system's manual and the "Procedures for Nutritional Management Using the Lunch System." The "Procedures for Nutritional Management Using the Lunch System" can be downloaded from the member school page on the association's website.

For inquiries about the "Fukuoka City Nursery School Lunch System" and "Procedures for Nutritional Management Using the Lunch System" from childcare facilities in the city that are not affiliated with the Fukuoka City Child Future Bureau Guidance and Inspection Division (Tel.092-711-4262), please.

Nutritional management without using nutritional management software, etc.

If small-scale childcare facilities are not using the Fukuoka City Nursery School Lunch System or other nutritional management software, they can evaluate the food composition (average edible amount per person per day).

How to use the "School Lunch Content Consideration Table"

One method for determining and evaluating food composition is to create and use a form called a "School Lunch Content Review Sheet."
We have created a procedure manual, "Procedure for Nutritional Management without Using Nutritional Management Software (Using the School Lunch Content Review Sheet)," which explains how to proceed in line with the actual nutritional management procedures. Please refer to the operation and management manual and related forms. For small-scale childcare facilities, please refer to the "Small-scale Childcare Facility Operation and Management Manual (School Lunches)."
