Consideration for disability characteristics

To ensure that children with disabilities, who may find it difficult to enjoy zoos on a daily basis due to the nature of their disability, can enjoy them safely,
We will take operational considerations into account.

Considerations for facility operation

As a general rule, we will reduce noise by refraining from making announcements within the park.

Earmuffs and sun glasses available for rental

We will lend out earmuffs (for those with hearing sensitivity) and blackout glasses (for those with visual sensitivity).

Calm down/cool down space provided

We will set up a calm-down/cool-down area within the park.

Distribution of Safety Maps and Safety Guides

The Safety Map and Safety Guide will be distributed in advance.

Because Fukuoka City Zoo has many hills, in addition to the information included in the regular safety map, we also have information for wheelchair users and others.
To help you plan your park visit route in advance, we've included information about slopes and inclines.

* Safety Map: A map that notifies people with sensory hypersensitivity to sound, light, etc. of places where they may be affected by stimuli in advance.
*Safe Guide: A guide that uses pictures to explain what experiences people will have when they go out, for people who, due to their disabilities, find it difficult to predict what they will experience in new places and have difficulty acting flexibly according to the situation.

Distribution of a safe toilet map for parents and children

We will distribute a map that compiles information on restrooms equipped with diaper changing stations and ostomy-friendly facilities.
