About free of charge early childhood education, childcare

　In Fukuoka City, childcare fees are paid under a national system that provides free early childhood education and care to children aged 3 to 5 and children aged 0 to 2 in need of childcare and who are from households exempt from resident tax.
　Additionally, Fukuoka City has its own system in place that provides free childcare fees for the second and subsequent children aged 2-0 years old (households subject to resident tax) who live in Fukuoka City and require childcare.

Application for confirmation to become a facility eligible for free tuition

In order to become eligible for the free early childhood education and childcare program, the operator of an unlicensed childcare facility must submit a notification (establishment notification) under the Child Welfare Act and apply for confirmation from the city, town, or village. Confirmed facilities will be posted on the Fukuoka City website as eligible for the free program. Please see the information below for details on the confirmation application.

Items to check before applying

• Only facilities that have been issued a "Certificate of Meeting the Standards for Supervision and Guidance of Unlicensed Childcare Facilities" (hereinafter referred to as the "Certificate") are eligible for the free childcare service.
• However, if the facility is newly opened and the city has not yet conducted an on-site inspection, a "voluntary inspection form" must be attached, and if it is confirmed that the conditions are met, the facility will become "eligible for conditional free service."
• If there are any changes to the information you have provided, please submit a "Confirmation and Change Notification" as soon as possible.
• If you wish to withdraw your notification, please submit a "Confirmation Decline Notification."
