What are welfare officers and child welfare officers?
Social welfare officers and child welfare officers are volunteers who have been commissioned by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare in your area. They provide consultations on social welfare, support the healthy upbringing of children, and provide support for child rearing. There are approximately 2,400 of them active in Fukuoka City.
- Welfare officers and child welfare officers are bound by confidentiality obligations. Personal information such as the content of consultations will be kept strictly confidential.
- There are both male and female welfare officers and child welfare officers.
- When visiting, I carry a "Public Welfare Commissioner/Child Welfare Commissioner Certificate" issued by the Mayor of Fukuoka.
